CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Bessie B. McQueen, 26 Sep 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Bessie B. McQueen Bessie B. McQueen, 79, Sugar Hollow Road, Elizabethton, formerly of Whaleytown Road, Butler, died Friday, September 26, 2003, at the residence of her daughter following an extended illness. She was a native of Carter County, Tenn. She was a homemaker and a member of Little Milligan Missionary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter, two brothers and two sisters. Survivors include one daughter, Joylene Estep, Elizabethton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dean and Barbara McQueen, Billy Ronda and Phyllis McQueen and Zandel McQueen, all of Butler, Tenn. Ten grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren also survive. Funeral service for Bessie B. McQueen will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, September 28, 2003, in the Sunset Chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home with the Rev. Nick Bradshaw officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mr. Joel Crisp. Graveside service and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Monday, September 29, 2003, in the McQueen Family Cemetery, Butler. Active pallbearers will be Rick Montgomery, Pete Holtsclaw, David Griffey, Johnny Campbell, Bearl Campbell, J. R. Campbell and Robert Presnell. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. on Monday.
