Miller 11/15/99 Martha Elizabeth W. Miller, 507 E. Myrtle Avenue, Johnson City, died Friday, November 12, 1999, at Colonial Hill Health Care Center following an extended illness. Ms. Miller was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late John and Lydia Emmert Whitehead. She was also preceded in death by two brothers, Andy and Henry Whitehead; four sisters, Florence King, Sarah Moody, Myrtle Shell and Callie Billings; a special uncle, Gordon Whitehead; and several nieces and nephews. Ms. Miller was a lifetime member of Upper Shell Creek Christian Church, but attended First Christian Church of Johnson City. She was a home health nurse and a retired employee of the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital. Survivors include several nieces, one nephew, and many good friends. Myrtle Avenue, Johnson City, who died Friday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with Mr. Terry Lyons, minister, officiating. Interment will follow at Perry Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Rhododendron Chapel.
