Miller 04/21/99 Mrs. Grace L. "Dood" Miller, 73, 138 Bowman Road, Apt. #16, Johnson City, died Monday, April 19, 1999, at Pine Ridge Care Center, Elizabethton, following a lengthy illness. Mrs. Miller was a lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late Charles B. and Martha Grindstaff Taylor. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Miller, in 1986, and by two brothers and two sisters. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and a member of Fork Mountain Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include a son, Randy Miller, Hampton; a daughter, Shirley Jean Bowman, Galax, Va.; three sisters, Melba T. Ingram, Elizabethton, Jean Abbott, Awassi, Okla., and Peggy T. McCracken, Johnson City; a brother, Joe S. Taylor, Johnson City; a grandson, Andy Miller, Hampton; and a great- grandson, Austin Paul Miller, Hampton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. MILLER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Grace L. "Dood" Miller, 73, 138 Bowman Road, Apt. #16, Johnson City, who died Monday, will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Rev. Elgin Berry officiating. Music will be by Kay Walters, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Miller Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie Hill, Tony Street, Jack Street, David Street, Randy Hill and Joe Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be friends. To those who desire, memorials may be made to the Carter County Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 776, Elizabethton, TN 37644. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:50 a.m. Thursday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her son, Randy Miller, 615 4th Avenue, Hampton, any time. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
