Miller 1/19/00 Mrs. Cardie Elizabeth Miller, 94, 5290 Treat Highway, Adrian, Mich., died Monday, January 17, 2000, at Bixby Medical Center, Adrian, following an extended illness. Mrs. Miller was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late James and Carrie Salts Scalf. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Roby Miller, June 2, 1971, a son, Edward Lee Miller Sr., seven brothers and a sister. Mrs. Miller had lived in Michigan for the past 10 years. She attended the Church of God. Survivors include two daughters, Naomi Britt, Adrian, Mich., and Pearl Nicholson, Johnson City; four sons, Eugene Miller, Johnson City, R.M. Miller and Norman Miller, both of Unicoi, and Tommy Waters, Nashville; a sister, Mrs. May Head Haines, Johnson City; and a brother, Steven "Doll" Scalf, Watauga. A number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. MILLER -- Funeral services for Mrs. Cardie Elizabeth Miller, 94, 5290 Treat Highway, Adrian, Mich., formerly of Hampton, who died Monday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. B.F. McKinney Jr. and Rev. Dallas Gregg officiating. Graveside services and interment will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Woodby Hill Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be grandsons. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 10:50 a.m. Thursday. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
