Miller John Frank Miller, 85, formerly of 326 Burbank Road, Roan Mountain, died Sunday, August 13, 2000, at Roan Highlands Nursing Center following an extended illness. Mr. Miller was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Nathaniel and Sallie Bowling Miller. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Street Miller, in 1997, and three brothers. Mr. Miller was a member of the Burbank Free Will Baptist Church. He was retired from North American Rayon Corporation and was a retired employee of the State of Tennessee Roan Mountain State Park at the Miller Homestead. He was a member of the Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566 F&AM. Survivors include two daughters and a son-in-law, Margaret Ann Greer, Johnson City, and Jackie and David Grindstaff, Roan Mountain; two sons and daughters-in-law, Joseph Nathaniel and Charlotte Miller, Roan Mountain, and John and Lois Miller, Mountain City; and two sisters, Carrie Jarrett, Roan Mountain, and Mary Pate, Erwin. Nine grandchildren, nine great- grandchildren, six step-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, is in charge of arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Tetrick MILLER -- Funeral services for John Frank Miller, 85, formerly of 326 Burbank Road, Roan Mountain, who died Sunday, August 13, 2000, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 15, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel, Roan Mountain, with Rev. Dulaney Berry and Rev. Richard Blevins officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Charlotte Smith. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, August 16, in the Miller Cemetery at the Miller Homestead with Masonic graveside services accorded by the Roan Mountain Masonic Lodge #566 F&AM. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors. The family, friends and ministers will meet at the cemetery at 10:55 a.m. Wednesday for the graveside services. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Rhododendron Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home. Friends may also call at the home of a son, Joseph Miller, 332 Burbank Road, Roan Mountain, any time.
