Miller Rev. Edward "Bud" Miller, 76, 199 Bud Miller Road, Roan Mountain, died Wednesday, December 6, 2000, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following an extended illness. Rev. Miller was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Lawrence and Rosalee Holden Miller. Rev. Miller was a former pastor of Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church. He was a World War II veteran, having served in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his wife, Florence Palmer Miller, Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Patty and Elmer Ellis, Roan Mountain; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Rebecca Miller and William and Karen Miller, all of Elizabethton; a sister, Helen Marie Moran of Ohio; and four grandchildren, William Miller, Elizabethton, Melinda Bennett, Mt. Olive, N.C., Ruth Anne Harris, Roan Mountain, and Angela Miller, Elizabethton. A niece and a nephew also survive. Edward "Bud" Miller, 76, 199 Bud Miller Road, Roan Mountain, who died Wednesday, December 6, 2000, will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday, December 8, at Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Keith Gwyn and Rev. D.C. Byrd officiating. Music will be under the direction of the Morgan Branch Free Will Baptist Church Youth Choir and Charlotte Smith, organist. Graveside services and interment will follow the service on Friday, December 8, in the Richardson Cemetery with Military Honors accorded by the Captain Lynn H. Folsom VFW Post #2166. Active pallbearers will be John Richardson, Gary Perkins, Danny Cook, Dale Miller, Ronnie Miller, Norman Miller and Randy Grindstaff. Honorary pallbearers will be Walter McKinney, Chris McKinney, Fletch Peek, Rick Guinn, Arlan Singleton, C.L. Thomas, Jack Hoilman and Harold Gwyn. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Rhododendron Chapel.
