CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Pearl W. Miller, 11 Dec 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Pearl W. Miller STONY POINT, N.C. -- Pearl W. Miller, 87, 127 Smith Farm Road, Stony Point, died Wednesday, December 11, 2002, at Valley Nursing Center in Taylorsville. Mrs. Miller was a native of Hampton (Dennis Cove), Tenn., and the daughter of the late Dan and Bertha Ward Whitehead. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, James Robert Morgan; a daughter, Pamela Garr; a grandson, Scottie Garr; two granddaughters, Bertha Morgan and Casey Greenwell; a stepdaughter, Ruth Shankle; a stepson, Ray Morgan; a stepgrandson, David Shankle; a sister, Jeanette Pearce; and six brothers, Homer, Orvell, Clyde, Walter, Claude and Tommy Whitehead. Mrs. Miller was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include her husband, James H. Miller, of the home; eight daughters, Rae Daniels and husband Stewart, Johnson City, Tenn., Retha Shankle, Etowah, Tenn., Roma Jean Blevins, Hampton, Tenn., Rhoda Wilker, Baltimore, Md., Ronnetta Miller, Bea Davis and husband Buddy, Molly McClanahan and husband Randy, and Betty Mitchell and friend Mike, all of Hiddenite; five sons, Raymond Morgan and wife Evelyn, Stony Point, Roy Morgan and wife Gertie, Jimmy Miller and wife Patsy Red, and Judge Miller and wife Patsy Blue, all of Statesville, and Eddie Miller, Hiddenite; three sisters, Rosie Largent, Roan Mountain, Tenn., Katie Cousins, Johnson City, Tenn., and Hattie Schwartz, Adrian, Mich.; a brother, Raymond Whitehead, Elizabethton, Tenn.; a stepdaughter, Ruby Weeks, Hampton, Tenn.; 49 grandchildren; 81 great-grandchildren; 15 great-great-grandchildren; 12 stepgrandchildren; 22 step-great-grandchildren; and two step-great- great-grandchildren. Miller, 87, 127 Smith Farm Road, Stony Point, N.C., who died Wednesday, December 11, 2002, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday, December 13, in the Chapman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sam Vallini officiating. Interment will follow in the Hiddenite Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 until 8:30 p.m. Thursday at Chapman Funeral Home.
