CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Pierce Eugene Miller, 9 Feb 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Pierce E. Miller Pierce Eugene Miller, 73, of 2611 Louise Street, Johnson City, died Sunday, February 9, 2003 in the Johnson City Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a native of Carter County and had lived most of his life in Johnson City. He was a son of the late Gurney and Nell Richardson Miller. Mr. Miller served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He had worked as a truck driver for Bawgus Paving Company. Mr. Miller was of the Holiness faith and a member of the Church of God. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Jonah Eugene Honeycutt; three brothers, Carl Miller, Dean Miller, Dale Miller, and by a sister, Gail Miller. Survivors include his wife, Evelene Miller; four sons, Danny Miller and Charles Miller, both of Johnson City; Greg Miller, Unicoi, and Pierce Lynn Miller, Camden, S.C.; four daughters, Judy Emmert, Elizabethton; Tina Kelly and Loura Honeycutt, both of Johnson City, and Rita Trivett, Camden, S.C.; one brother, Mike Miller, Elizabethton; two sisters, Ruth O'Quinn and Frances Green, both of Elizabethton; 16 grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, is in charge of arrangements. MILLER -- Funeral services for Pierce E. Miller, 73, of 2611 Louise Street, Johnson City, who died Sunday, February 9, 2003, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, February 11, 2003 in the Morris-Baker South Chapel. Pastor Rick Chapman and Pastor John Garrett will officiate. Burial will follow in the Washington County Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be selected from friends and family members.
