Moffitt 10/29/99 Mrs. Hazel Louise Moffitt, 82, of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, died Thursday, October 28, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center following a brief illness. Mrs. Moffitt was a native of Hampton and had lived most of her life in Carter County. She was a daughter of the late Franklin E. and Hester Frances Moffitt and was also preceded in death by a grandson, Robert Benjamin "Bobby" Brice; a brother, Glenn Moffitt; a twin sister, Rettie Pittman, and three other sisters, Pauline Buchanan, Mary Hightower and Birdie Young. Mrs. Moffitt was a retired employee of American Bemberg Corporation with 17 years of service. She was a member of the Big Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include four daughters and a son-in-law, Angela and George Jones and Janice Brice Miller, all of Elizabethton, Linda Collins and Faye Moffitt, both of Johnson City; and a brother, William Moffitt of Maryland. Seven grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. MOFFITT -- Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel Louise Moffitt, 82, of Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, who died Thursday, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Rev. Rick Shelton officiating. Music will be by Brenda Barnett and Phillip Waters, soloists. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Keith Trivett, Steven Trivett, John Fenner, Julian Thorp, Stacy Cox, Willard Moffitt, Ernest Gentry, Grover Gentry, Glenn Gentry and Nelson Turner. Honorary pallbearers will be the Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and Dr. Jonathan Bremer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 until 8:30 p.m. Friday. Friends may call at the residences of any of her daughters at any time. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
