Morgan Lurlie E. Morgan, 84, 2205 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, died Tuesday, March 20, 2001, at Lakebridge Health Care Center after a lengthy illness. Mrs. Morgan was a native of Carter County and had lived most of her life in Johnson City. She was a daughter of the late Carlie Campbell and Eva Miller Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Gurney Morgan, in 1988, a sister, three brothers, two granddaughters and a great- great-grandson. Mrs. Morgan was a homemaker and a member of the Baptist faith. Survivors include three daughters, Ann Wetherington, Helen Sneyd and Mary Payne, all of Johnson City; five sons, Leroy Morgan and Robert Morgan, both of Johnson City, Jack Morgan of Iowa, Teddy Morgan, Jonesborough, and Tony Morgan, Piney Flats; and two sisters, Bessie Craig and Willie May Barnett, both of Johnson City. Eleven grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great- great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282- 1521, is in charge of arrangements. MORGAN -- Funeral services for Lurlie E. Morgan, 84, who resided with her daughter and son-in-law, Ann and Bob Wetherington, 2205 Knob Creek Road, Johnson City, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, from the Morris- Baker North Chapel with the Rev. John Hitechew officiating. Interment will follow graveside services at 11 a.m. Friday, March 23, at Monte Vista Burial Park. The family and friends are asked to meet at Morris-Baker by 10:30 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Allen Barnett, Robin Barnett, Bobby Herrara, Jamie Montoya, Carlos Montoya and Sean Morgan. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and other hours at the residence.
