CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Frank Howell Morgan, 31 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Frank H. Morgan Frank Howell Morgan, 79, of South Gate, Calif., died Monday, March 31, 2003, after an extended illness. Mr. Morgan was a native of Shell Creek, Tenn., and had lived in California for more than 50 years. He was a son of the late Charles M. and Brucie Yates Morgan and grandson of the late John W. and Martha Potter Morgan and Timothy W. and Opie Cooper Yates. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his wife, Nellie Vincelli Morgan; his parents and grandparents; a sister, Margaret Ann Morgan; a niece, Patsy Ann Morgan; and six uncles, Ancel, Ernest, Eugene, Albert, Elsie and Ira Yates. Survivors include a sister and brother-in-law, Polly Morgan Hutchins and Harry W. Hutchins; a brother and sister-in-law, Edward H. Morgan and Blanche Hoss Morgan; a nephew, Don Morgan and his wife Edna Julian Morgan; a niece, Judy Ann Morgan Gardner and her husband Acie Gardner; five great-nephews, Scott and Bradley Morgan, John, Brian and Michael Gardner; a great-niece, Kristina Gardner; a special aunt, Mayme Yates Hampton; 10 cousins, H.G. Kelly, Harold and Tim Yates, Kay Yates Woods, Rebekah Yates Hunt, Opie Lee Hampton Anderson and Mayme Kay Hampton Banasiak; a special step-daughter, Jerrie Barnes (Corona, Calif.); two step-grandchildren, Jamie and Doug; and one step-great-granddaughter, Alisha. The committal service was held in California. A Memorial Service, commemorating the life of Frank H. Morgan, will be conducted at his home church, Lower Shell Creek Christian Church, Roan Mountain, TN on Sunday, April 6, 2003, at 2:30 p.m. Gerald Holly, minister, will be in charge of the service.
