Mrs. Morrell was a native and lifelong resident of Carter County and a daughter of the late William Grant and Lula Jane Forrester Anderson. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Earl R. Morrell, in 1997. Mrs. Morrell was a housewife and a member of Siam Baptist Church where in the past she had served as Church Clerk, Children's Sunday School Teacher, in the W.M.U., and the Tape and Literature Ministry. She received a "Servant Award" from Siam Baptist Church for more than 25 years of service. Survivors include three brothers, Alphas Anderson and J.D. Anderson, both of Elizabethton, and Argul H. Anderson, Bristol, and two sisters, Lucy Smith, Blowing Rock, N.C., and Jean Potter, Lenoir, N.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, is in charge of the arrangements. www.Funeral-Plans.com/Hathaway-Percy MORRELL -- Funeral services for Mrs. Ora Lee Morrell, 84, of Siam Road, Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, May 8, 2001, will be held at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 9, at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with the Rev. Jack Roddy officiating. Music will be by Bill Anderson, organist. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, May 10, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, prior to the service. Everyone will meet at the cemetery on Thursday morning for the graveside service. Honorary pallbearers will be the men and deacons of Siam Baptist Church.
