Mrs. Morris was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late James Albert and Rebecca Crow May. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert L. Morris, in 1971, two daughters, Grace Reed and Patsy Oliver, and two sisters. Mrs. Morris had lived in Sullivan County for the past 45 years. She was a member of the Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. Survivors include three sons, Robert L. Morris and Joe Morris, both of Bluff City, and Fred Morris, Elizabethton; two daughters, Florence Miller, Bluff City, and Ann Parlier, Elizabethton; and two brothers, Frank May and Ed May, both of Elizabethton. Several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. MORRIS -- Funeral services for Virginia Morris, 92, 449 Bunker Hill Road, Bluff City, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Interment will follow at Minton Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jeff Carr, Rocky Maines, Greg Morris, Joe Morris Jr., Danny Ray Miller and Robert Joe Morris. Honorary pallbearers will be friends and neighbors. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence any time. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
