CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Ruth Wilson Morris, 14 Nov 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Ruth Wilson Morris Ruth Wilson Morris, Sherwood Dr., Johnson City, formerly of Race Street, Elizabethton, died Friday, November 14, 2003, at the Johnson City Medical Center following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late William Thomas Wilson, Sr. and Bessie Myers Wilson. She was a member of West Side Christian Church. She was a retired printer from Fitzsimmons Printing. She was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Morris, a son, Gene Bowers, three sisters, Mary Sweet, Elsie Zimmerman, Fannie Cyphers, and four brothers, Worley "98" Wilson, Spencer Wilson, Harley Wilson and William "Bill" Wilson. Survivors include one daughter-in-law, JoAnn Bowers, Huntington Beach, Calif.; one grandson, Curtis Bowers, Huntington Beach, Calif.; one granddaughter, Gina Bowers, Los Angeles, Calif.; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Bowers and Devon Bowers, both of Huntington Beach, Calif.; her niece, Kim Peters, Elizabethton, and 14 beloved nieces and nephews. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Sunday, November 16, 2003, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, with Mr. Greg Key, Minister, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Trilla Little, organist. The graveside service and interment will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be deacons and elders of West Side Christian Church. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. James Mahoney, Dr. Jeff Farrow, Dr. Jim Wilson, friends and neighbors of Appalachian Christian Village. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home chapel at 1:15 p.m. Monday, to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-8 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home chapel or other times at the residence of her niece, Mrs. Kim Peters, 114 West F Street, Elizabethton, any time.
