CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Mrs. Burlen L. Morris, 9 Jan 2004

Mrs. Burlen L. Morris, age 82, of Muddy Branch Road, Elizabethton, 
died Friday, Jan. 9, 2004, at her residence. 
Mrs. Morris was a native of Sullivan County and a daughter of the 
late James and Mary Scalf Lyons. She was a retired employee of Denise 
Lingerie Company, Johnson City. She was of the Christian faith. Mrs. 
Morris was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Morris, and by one 
sister, Mary Lee Buckles. 
Survivors include one daughter, Mary L. Lunceford, Elizabethton; one 
son, Jimmy Morris, Bluff City; four sisters, Ruby Carver, Elizabethton, 
Anna Bee Malone, Bluff City, Suzie Winebarger, Bristol, Tenn., and 
Ellie Stout, Bristol, Va.; five grandchildren, Travis Lunceford, 
Elizabethton, Lisa Lunceford, Morocco, Africa, Donna Morris, David 
Morris and Jimmy Dale Morris, all of Bluff City; and seven great-
grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 
The graveside service for Mrs. Burlen L. Morris will be conducted at 
2:30 p.m. Sunday, January 11, 2004, at the Jones Cemetery, Bunker Hill, 
with the Rev. Dale Ball officiating. 
The family will receive friends in the Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home 
from 1-2 p.m. Sunday, prior to the graveside service.
