Morton Mrs. Nora Hyder Morton, 76, 190 Mountain View Circle, Elizabethton, died Sunday, February 17, 2002, at Johnson City Medical Center. Mrs. Morton was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Frank S. and Julia A. McKinney Hyder. She was also preceded in death by a sister and two brothers. Mrs. Morton was a retired Secretary and Claim Investigator for ET&WNC Railroad and ET&WNC Trucking Company. She was a member of Zion Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Claude J. Morton; a son and daughter-in- law, Shannon J. and Becky Morton, Elizabethton; a sister, Mina Hyder Street, Hampton; a granddaughter, Aimee Elizabeth Morton; four nieces, Shelia Breedlove, Hilda Graham, Valeria Davis and Brenda Sears; and a nephew, Dennis Ray Hyder. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. MORTON -- Funeral services for Mrs. Nora Hyder Morton, 76, 190 Mountain View Circle, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, February 17, 2002, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, February 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Dennis Milligan officiating. Private graveside services and interment will be conducted Wednesday, February 20, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Harold Montgomery, Todd Montgomery, Carl Montgomery, Leonard Oliver, Bill Breedlove, George Breedlove and Dennis Ray Hyder.
