Motzer 12/10/99 Mrs. Florine Cannon Motzer, 92, 511 E. Maple Street, Avon Park, Fla., died Wednesday, December 8, 1999, at The Oaks at Avon in Avon Park following a short illness. Mrs. Motzer was a native of Carter County and had resided in Avon Park for the past 30 years. She was a daughter of the late Kyle and Gertrude Williams Smalling and was also preceded in death by her first husband, Lessie H. Cannon, in 1951, and her last husband, Herman Motzer, in 1996. Mrs. Motzer was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Avon Park where she was a member of the choir and taught a Sunday School Class for most of her life. Survivors include a daughter, Elsie Crowe, Avon Park, Fla.; two sons, Jack Cannon, Johnson City, and Rev. Charles Cannon, Pittsburg, Pa.; four stepchildren; and a brother, Fred Smalling, Frostproof, Fla. Six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren also survive. Mrs. Motzer is being returned to Elizabethton for funeral and interment. Maple Street, Avon Park, Fla., who died Wednesday, will be held at 8 p.m. Sunday at Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, Sunset Chapel, with Father Frank Cooper, minister, officiating. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday in the Crown Section of Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons, granddaughters, great-grandsons and great- granddaughters, Dale, Blair, Wade and Arron Cannon, Les Crowe, Brandon and Kyle Cannon, Tyler Scott, Sabrina Scott and Tara Thomas. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. Friends may also call at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Doris Cannon, 512 Dalewood Road, Johnson City, any time. To those who desire, memorials may be made to Saint John's Episcopal Church, Capital Fund, 500 N. Roan Street, Johnson City, Tenn. 37601.
