Caldwell Markland

Caldwell Markland, 74, 921 Folsom Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, 
September 3, 2003 in the Ivy Hall Nursing Home.
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Will and Martha 
Markland. 
He was a retired auto mechanic. Mr. Markland was a veteran of the Korean 
Conflict, having served in the United States Army. 
He was preceded in death by his wife, Peggy Markland, on March 6, 1999.
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, David and Shari Markland, of 
Elizabethton; one grandson, Trevor Caldwell Markland; one brother, Conway 
Markland, of Elizabethton; two sisters, Nora Davis and her husband, Eugene, 
of Elizabethton, and Pansy, of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also 
survive.
Graveside services for Caldwell Markland will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday, 
September 4, 2003 in the National Cemetery, Mountain Home, with the Rev. Dallas 
Gregg officiating. V.F.W. Post 2166 will conduct military graveside honors. 
Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 1:50 p.m. Thursday.
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
