Guy P. Myers

Guy Paul Myers, 89, 116 E. I Street, died Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2002, 
at his residence. 
A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late James and Almeda 
Garland Myers. Mr. Myers was preceded in death by a daughter, Jacqueline 
Myers Mock, and two brothers, Stanley and Orville Myers. 
He was a graduate of East Tennessee State College. He was a retired school 
teacher, having taught in the Carter County School System for 47 years. He 
was a member and deacon of Immanuel Baptist Church. 
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Bess White Myers, two grandsons, 
Brian Mock, of the home, and Loy Paul Mock, Gray, three sisters, Hazel 
Crumley, Mabel Richardson and Ella Mae Bowers, all of Elizabethton, and 
several nieces and nephews. 
Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

MYERS -- Graveside services for Guy Paul Myers, 89, 116 E. I Street, 
Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in 
Happy Valley Memorial Park. Burial will follow the service. Active 
pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1:30 
p.m. Friday, will be Lynn Powell, Jason Taylor, Corey Kennard, Wayne 
Buckles, Allen Skeans, Derrick Coffey, David Meredith, Ron Anderson, 
Tommy Birchfield and Johnny Birchfield. Friends may call at the funeral 
home or the residence at any time. Family and friends will assemble at 
the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Friday to go to the cemetery. Memorial 
Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
