Howard A. Nave 





    Howard A. "Hounie" Nave, 72, 266 Wilbur Dam Road, Elizabethton, passed 

away Thursday, April 26, 2007, at Johnson City Medical Center as a result of a 

heart attack. 





    A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late William G. and Opal 

Bare Nave. 





    Mr. Nave was a member of Siam Baptist Church and was retired from Holston 

Defense. He attended UT-Knoxville and loved Tennessee football, the New York 

Mets and farming. 





    Mr. Nave served in Germany with the U.S. Army. 





    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Bud 

Nave and Cotton Nave. 





    Survivors include two brothers, Jerry Nave, Hampton, and Doug Nave, 

Elizabethton. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition, 

he is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Regina Anderson, 

Elizabethton; two grandchildren, Miranda Anderson and Seth Anderson, both of 

Elizabethton; special family, Kay Arnold, Wade Arnold, Heath and Jennifer 

Arnold, all of Elizabethton, and Amy Arnold, Nashville; grandchildren, Brandon 

Wade Arnold, Bristol, and Isaiah Heath Arnold, Johnson City; and close friend, 

Cindy Buck, Elizabethton. 





    The funeral service for Mr. Nave will be conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday, April 

29, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Jack Roddy 

officiating. Music will be under the direction of Joel Street and Trilla 

Little. Interment will follow in the Nave Cemetery, Siam Community, with music 

by Jon Shell, bagpiper. Military Honors will be provided by the Captain Lynn 

H. Folsom VFW Post No. 2166. Active pallbearers will be selected from family 

and friends, Ronnie Hazelwood, Michael Hazelwood, Rick Williams, Bob Campbell, 

Heath Arnold and Wade Arnold. Honorary pallbearers will be Robert Bare, Chris 

Honeycutt, Hunt Estep, Dr. Jason Hatjioannou, Dr. John Holbrook and Dr. Robert 

G. Rowe. The family will receive friends in the funeral chapel from 1:30 to 3 

p.m. Sunday, prior to the service. The family would like to express a 

special "thank you" to JCMCH ICU nurses Jennifer and Pat and the Family 

Advocates. Those who prefer memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations to 

JCMC Hospice, 101 Med-Tech Park, Suite 100, Johnson City, TN 37604. Condolence
