Croy Nave, 92, 504 Bishop Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, November 13, 2000, at his residence following an extended illness. Rev. Nave was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Campbell and Katie Estep Nave. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Virgie Bowers Nave, September 19, 1972, and a son, Robert Nave. Rev. Nave was a member of and also served as pastor for several years at New Horseshoe Free Will Baptist Church. He was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation and a former employee of Paty Lumber Company. Survivors include three daughters and a son-in-law, Frances Nave, June Nave and Carolyn and Archie Martin, all of Elizabethton; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Willie L. and Ruth Nave and Earl E. Nave, all of Elizabethton; 10 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; a brother, Chester Nave, Elizabethton; and a sister, Eola Nave, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Croy Nave, 92, 504 Bishop Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Monday, November 13, 2000, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, November 14, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with the Rev. Larry Garland and the Rev. Herman Crumley officiating. Music will be under the direction of Pam Wilson, organist, and Patricia Carden, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, November 15, in the Family Cemetery in Bishop Hollow, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Berlaskie Bowers, Tim Baumgardner, Curtis Hyder, Gary Nave, Glenn Nave, Charles Nave and Fayne Bowers. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence, 504 Bishop Hollow Road, Elizabethton, at any time.
