Manilla B. "MomMom" Oliver 





    Manilla B. "MomMom" Oliver, 79, 137 Daniel Lane, Elizabethton, died 

Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at her residence following an extended illness. 





    A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late B.J. and Easter 

Hicks Baumgardner. 





    Mrs. Oliver graduated from Elizabethton High School as valedictorian of 

the class of 1947. She was self-employed as a seamstress and attended 

Horseshoe Baptist Church. 





    In addition to her parents, Mrs. Oliver was preceded in death by her 

husband, Johnnie Oliver, a son, Larry "Butch" Oliver, and her brothers and 

sisters. 





    Survivors include a grandson, Scott Oliver, and a great-grandson, Scotty 

Oliver II, both of Elizabethton, and special friend, Teresa Stevens, Johnson 

City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 





    The graveside service for Mrs. Oliver will be conducted at 3:30 p.m. 

Saturday, December 9, at Teague/Oliver Cemetery, Hampton, with Rev. Ronnie 

Campbell officiating. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. 

Saturday at Tetrick Funeral Home prior to the service. Friends may also call 

at the residence of her grandson, Scott Oliver, at other times. Active 

pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers 

will be her Elizabethton High School classmates and her former customers/
