Odom 09/24/99 Mrs. Hazel C. Odom, 80, 512 West "E" Street, Elizabethton, died Wednesday, September 22, 1999, at Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. Mrs. Odom was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late John B. and Bessie Nave Campbell. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Joseph R. Odom, in 1947, a son, Larry W. Odom, and three brothers. Mrs. Odom was a baptized believer and attended the Christian Church. She was a retired employee of the Dietary Department of Carter County Memorial Hospital. Survivors include a son, Ronda Odom, Elizabethton; two daughters, Grayton Henson and Reba Whitehead, both of Elizabethton; five grandsons, Brent Odom, Mike Odom, Brian Henson, James Henson Jr. and David Whitehead; two granddaughters, Teresa Stapleton and Lisa Templeton; and four great- grandchildren, Nathaniel Huffman, Bailey Templeton, Jeremy Odom and Kaleb Whitehead. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. following a short illness. ODOM -- Funeral services for Mrs. Hazel C. Odom, 80, 512 West "E" Street, Elizabethton, who died Wednesday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Friday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Mr. Ernest Depew and Mr. Hugh Hatfield, ministers, officiating. Music will be under the direction of Larey and Chris Pippin. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Brent Odom, Mike Odom, Brian Henson, James Henson Jr., David Whitehead and Rick Stapleton. Honorary pallbearers will be Bob Blair, Melvin Campbell, Jerry Campbell, Dr. Todd Whittaker, Dr. Jeff Farrow, Dr. Clifford Wiegand, Kevin Templeton and the Nursing Staff of the 5400 Wing of Johnson City Medical Center Hospital. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Reba Whitehead, 614 Bradley Street, Elizabethton, any time. The family, friends, ministers and pallbearers will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in procession to the cemetery. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
