Odom Word has been received that Ford Henry Odom, 87, died Dec. 21, 2000, in the Kena Hospital, Tucson, Ariz. Born in Carter County in 1913, he was a son of the late Thomas Brownlo and Laura Ellen Barnett Odom. He was preceded in death by his wife, Naomi Heaton Odom, April 1998; by a brother, Clyde E. Odom in 1983; and by a sister, Florence Odom Stevens in April 1996. Mr. Odom served in the U.S. Army as a Paratrooper, later stationed in occupied Japan. Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Lee Castillo, Amarillo, Texas; two sons, Tom Odom, Virginia Beach, Va.; and Brian Odom, of Florida; one sister and brother-in-law, June Odom Whitehead and Byrl Whitehead, Roan Mountain; and several grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
