Frankie V. Odom, 86, formerly of Spring Street, Hampton, died 
Thursday, January 29, 2004, at Pine Ridge Care Center following an 
extended illness.
Mrs. Odom was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late 
Rod and Mollie Matherly Jenkins. She was also preceded in death by 
her husband, Selmer J. Odom Sr., May 14, 1996; a great-grandson, 
Austin James Frazier; two brothers, Tom Jenkins and R.J. Jenkins; 
and a sister, Ethel Hyder. 
Mrs. Odom was a member of Hampton Christian Church and was a homemaker. 
She was a member of Order of the Eastern Star, Hampton Chapter #470. 
Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Kay Odom, Hampton, 
and a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Jama and Jim Frazier, 
Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. 
The funeral service will be conducted at 7:30 p.m. Friday, January 30, 
in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Mr. Dwayne Calhoun, 
minister, and Chaplain Frederick Meredith officiating. Following the 
funeral service a memorial service will be accorded by Order of the 
Eastern Star, Hampton Chapter #470. The graveside service and interment 
will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday, January 31, at Happy Valley
 Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be Carmen Ray Hyder, Tony Jack 
Hyder, Norman "Buddy" Hyder, Irby Jones, Clyde Fuller, Craig Higgins 
and Jack Eaton. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are 
asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Saturday to go in 
procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 
7:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the 
residence, 135 Spring Street, Hampton, any time. Those who prefer 
memorials in lieu of flowers may make donations in memory of Mrs. Odom 
to Hampton Christian Church, 810 Deerfield Lane, Hampton, TN 37658.
