Oliver 10/26/99 Albert Earl Oliver, 84, formerly of 112 West Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, died Sunday, October 24, 1999, at Hermitage Nursing Home following a brief illness. Mr. Oliver was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Charlie and Mollie Bowers Oliver. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, one son-in-law, and his former wife, Mary Oliver. Mr. Oliver was a member of Pleasant Beach Baptist Church. He was a U.S. Army Veteran of World War II and an employee of the Bemberg Corporation. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Joann and Tom Vinson and Nyoka Shelburne, all of Harrisburg, Pa., and Loretta and Dean Pierce, Elizabethton, and four sons and three daughters-in-law, Charles and Freida Oliver, Richard and Phyllis Oliver, Warren Oliver and Albert and Patti Oliver, all of Elizabethton. Seventeen grandchildren, 16 great- grandchildren and several nieces and nephews also survive. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements. OLIVER -- Funeral services for Albert Earl Oliver, 84, formerly of 112 W. Riverside Drive, Elizabethton, who died Sunday, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Stout and Rev. Ken Jones officiating. Music will be under the direction of Dean Palmer, soloist. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be grandsons and nephews. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of his son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Freida Oliver, 373 Old Watauga Road, Watauga, any time. The family, friends, ministers and pallbearers will meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. Tetrick Funeral Home, Riverside Chapel, is in charge of arrangements.
