Mrs. Ruby Nell Franklin Ollis, 84, House of Prayer Road, 
Elizabethton, died Friday, January 16, 2004, at Ivy Hall Nursing 
Home following a brief illness.
Mrs. Ollis was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the 
late Roby and Iva Pierce Franklin. She was also preceded in death 
by her husband, Herman Ollis, and two brothers, Millard Franklin and 
Joe Franklin.
Mrs. Ollis was owner of the Valley Forge Remnant Shop and was a member 
of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memory a son and daughter-in-law, Nelson and 
Francis Ollis, Vero Beach, Fla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Linda Sue 
and Mark Smith, Knoxville; a daughter, Martha Ann Roberts, Johnson City; 
three brothers and sisters-in-law, Grady and Pat Franklin, Indianapolis, 
Ind., William and June Franklin, Melbourne, Fla., and Ray and Annie 
Franklin, Elizabethton; grandchildren, N. Scott Ollis and his wife, 
Martha, Irving, Texas, Robin Elizabeth Hahn and her husband, Jeff, 
Dallas, Texas, Kailena Ollis, Elizabethton, Marka Leann Smith Kuykendall 
and her husband, Ryan, Knoxville, Jordan Max Smith, Knoxville, and Amy 
Rebecca Kelley, Johnson City; and great-grandchildren, Christopher Watkins, 
Dallas, Texas, Ruby Lynn Ollis, Irving, Texas, and T.J. Ollis, Elizabethton. 
Several nieces, nephews and cousins and many, many friends also survive. 
It was Mrs. Ollis' wish that her body be donated to the Quillen Medical 
School for scientific research. A Celebration of Life Service will be 
observed at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 1, at Valley Forge Free Will Baptist 
Church with the Rev. Randy Johnson officiating. Music will be under the 
direction of Ben Johnson. The family will receive friends at Valley Forge 
Free Will Baptist Church from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, February 1. A special 
thanks to the staff and employees of Ivy Hall Nursing Home. In lieu of 
flowers, the family would prefer that donations be made to the Building 
Fund of Valley Forge Free Will Baptist Church, 1503 Riverview Drive,
