Osborne 03/04/99 Carolyn Louise Osborne, 80, of Jacksboro, formerly of Elizabethton, died Tuesday, March 2, 1999, at LaFollette Medical Center. Carolyn was a 1st Lt. in the Womens Army Corps in World War II. Following this service, she was employed by North American Rayon Corporation in Elizabethton and at the time of her retirement was secretary to the plant manager. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton. She was preceded in death by her parents, Katherine and Bill Osborne, and two brothers-in-law, Joe Hillenbrand and Lee Schmidlin. Survivors include two sisters, Gladys Hillenbrand, Huntsville, Ala., and Joyce Schmidlin, Jacksboro; four nephews, Steven Hillenbrand, Knoxville, Chris Schmidlin, Caryville, Jim Hillenbrand, Wilton, N.Y., and David Schmidlin, Caryville; and a special friend, Helen Thompson. Cross Funeral Home, LaFollette, (423) 562-7441, is in charge of arrangements. OSBORNE -- Funeral services for Carolyn Louise Osborne, 80, of Jacksboro, formerly of Elizabethton, who died Tuesday, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton with Rev. Kenneth LaDuke officiating. Interment will follow at Happy Valley Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the church from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, friends and relatives may wish to make a contribution to a charity of their choice or to the First United Methodist Church of Elizabethton.
