CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - William Lillard Osborne, 3 Jul 2004 ----¤¤¤---- William L. Osborne William Lillard Osborne, 83, East Main Street, Johnson City, went to be with the Lord Saturday, July 3, 2004, at the Johnson City Medical Center. Mr. Osborne was a native of Johnson County and a son of the late Presley and Kate Able Osborne. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Annie Lee Moore Osborne; one son, Charles Howard Osborne; one daughter, Shirley Louise Campbell; three grandsons, Richard Eugene Collins, David Wayne Brown and Anthony Byron Campbell; and one great-grandson, Michah Wayne Campbell. Mr. Osborne was a member of Prayer Tabernacle and had been a member of the family of God for more than 60 years. He thanked God for his salvation every day. Mr. Osborne had been a dairy farmer and a licensed mechanic, and was retired from Sherwood Chevrolet. He enjoyed singing for Jesus as a member of the Osborne Quartet. Survivors include two daughters and one son-in-law, Loraine and Steve Cummings, Johnson City, and Millie Robinson, Elizabethton; two sons, Raymond Osborne and Oscar Osborne, both of Elizabethton; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Margaret Isenhour, Mountain City, Rosie Shores, Chilhowie, Va., and Alma Nichols of Virginia. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Pastor Dewey Ward officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 7, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers are Spencer Moore, Dr. David Moulton, James Taylor and James Waddell. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Wednesday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a daughter, Loraine Cummings, where he had made his home, 1110 East Main Street, Johnson City.
