CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Arthur Franklin Osborne, 8 Oct 2004 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Arthur Franklin Osborne, Sr., 72, Cherokee Mountain Road, Jonesborough, died Friday, October 8, 2004 at his residence. Mr. Osborne was a Russell County, Va. native and had lived most of his life in Washington County. He was a son of the late George Washington Osborne and Clemie Tine Casey Osborne and was also preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Virginia Osborne and a favorite son-in-law, J.R. Shell. Mr. Osborne was retired from Harris Tarkett. He was a Baptist. Mr. Osborne is survived by three sons, Arthur Franklin Osborne, Jr., Jonesborough; Danny Wayne Osborne, Hampton and Dennis Allen Osborne, Jonesborough; one daughter, Mary Carolyn Osborne Shell, Roan Mtn.; one brother, Claude Osborne, Jonesborough; three sisters, Clara Mae Hamm, Jonesborough; Betty Ann Williamson and Frances Lyons both of Johnson City; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Mr. Osborne will be conducted at 8 p.m. Monday, October 11, 2004 from the Morris-Baker Funeral Home South Chapel. Pastor Dexter Brummitt and Danny Osborne, ministers, will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at Roselawn Memory Gardens. Family and friends are asked to assemble at the funeral home at 12:30 p.m. and travel in procession to the cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Johnathan Simerly, Dennis Hicks, Jeff Osborne, Greg Osborne, Greg Riddle, Wayne Lyons and Tony Stewart. Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Osborne, Derek Osborne, Cecil Davenport, Robert Davenport, Hobart Stanley and Michael Reedy. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of a son, 1106 Heritage Lane East, Jonesborough.
