Quillen VA Hospital, Mountain Home, following an extended illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Butler and Myrtle Harvey Perry. Mr. Perry attended Pleasant Beach Baptist Church and was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corp. He was a U.S. Army Veteran and a member of V.F.W. Post 2166. Mr. Perry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Perry, in 2001 and a grandson, Joshua Perry, in 2004. Survivors include three daughters and two sons-in-law, Patrice and Karl Grindstaff of Elizabethton, Martha and Jim Perry of Gray and Susan Perry of Bluff City; three sons and daughters-in-law, Frank and Penny Perry, Allen and Sabrina Perry all of Bluff City and Wesley and Dee Perry of Johnson City; one step daughter and spouse, Debra and Wayne Gillenwater; two step-sons and spouses, Rusty and Mellisa Dulaney and Michael and Angela Dulaney, all of Bluff City; one brother Orville Perry of Elizabethton; and 20 grandchildren and one great grandchild. The funeral service will be conducted at 8:30 p.m., Wednesday, Aug. 31, 2005, in the Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel with the Rev. Bobby Stout officiating. Graveside and interment will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 1, 2005, at Sunrise Cemetery, Bluff City. Active pallbearers will be Adam Campbell, Karl Grindstaff, Wayne Gillenwater, Wayne Grindstaff, Sean Perry and Jim Perry. Honorary pallbearer will be Jason Nelson. Two best friends, Pen Hampton and Aaron Glover and one special friend, the Rev. Bobby Stout. Everyone will meet at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30-8:30 p.m., Wednesday prior to the service in Tetrick Funeral Home - Bluff City Chapel.
