Phillips Elmer Odell Phillips, 91, 318 First Street, Adah, Pa., died Friday, February 16, 2007, at Union Town Hospital, Union Town, Pa. A native of Johnson County, he was a son of the late C.C. and Hester Burton Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters and three brothers. Mr. Phillips had lived a number of years in Elizabethton before moving to Pennsylvania 42 years ago. He was a retired electrician and a member of the I.B.E.W., Kingsport, where in earlier years he had served as the Business Agent. Mr. Phillips was a member of the Watauga Masonic Lodge #622, where he was a former Past Master, and a member of Kerbella Temple, Knoxville. Survivors include his wife, Ida Phillips; two sons and daughters-in-law, Jack Lee and Marilyn Phillips of Hudson, Ill., and Dick and Mary Lynn Phillips of Watauga; four grandchildren, Wendy Eggers and husband Jason, Shannon Johnson and husband Jeff, Amy Beernink and husband Bryan and Brian Phillips and wife Monica; eight great-grandchildren; his former wife, Eloise Phillips of Watauga; a sister, Maxine Landry of Cape Coral, Fla.; and three brothers, C.C. Phillips of Butler, Ernest Phillips of Salt Lake City, Utah, and Aubrey Dale Phillips of Boone, N.C. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mr. Phillips will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 21, in the Mausoleum of Peace at Happy Valley Memorial Park with Mr. Wayne Mottern, minister, officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Masonic services will be conducted following the funeral service by the Watauga Masonic Lodge #622. Friends may call at the residence of a son and daughter-in-law, Dick and Mary Lynn Phillips, 465 Cripple Creek Loop, Watauga. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Online condolences to the Phillips family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
