Pierce Edith Annabelle Pierce, 88, 243 McQueen Street, Butler, passed away Sunday, May 4, 2008, at her residence. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Frankie Jane Pierce Berry. Mrs. Pierce was a former employee of Timberland Shoe Company and was a homemaker and care giver. She was a member of the Piercetown Baptist Church. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Pierce, and a brother, Worley Pierce. Survivors include four sons, Larry Pierce and his wife Mary and Dennis Pierce, all of Elkhart, Ind., and Randy and Ted Pierce, both of the home; seven grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; and a sister, Novella Christine Pierce Oliver, Hillview Health Center, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services for Mrs. Pierce will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 7, at Piercetown Baptist Church with the Rev. Oddis Dugger Jr. officiating. Music will be provided by Nioka Markland. Interment will follow at Butler Memorial Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Doug Pierce, Dennis Pierce, Vaughn Potter, Josh Rainey, Harry Pierce and Michael Oliver. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday at Piercetown Baptist Church. Friends may also call at the residence. Condolences to the Pierce family may be e-mailed to mfc@chartertn.net.
