CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Georgia Faye Parlier, 22 Jun 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Georgia F. Parlier Georgia Faye Parlier, 78, formerly of Elizabethton, died Tuesday, June 22, 2004 at her residence in Drexel, North Carolina. A native of Carter County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Allen and Bernice Smith Bowers. She was a member of Elizabethton Bible Baptist Church and a homemaker. She was preceded in death by her husband, James E. Parlier; four sons, Randy, David, Arthur and Burl Parlier; three brothers, Elmer Bowers, Floyd Bowers, Ernest Bowers, and one sister, Dorothy Parlier. Survivors include eight sons, Roy Parlier, of New Market, Tenn.; Allen Parlier, Hampton; Steve Parlier, of Granite Falls, N.C.; Norman Parlier, Elizabethton; Timmy Parlier, Granite Falls, N.C.; Sonny Parlier, Elizabethton; Ricky Parlier, of Lenoir, N.C.; Bobby Parlier, Granite Falls, N.C.; two daughters, Vickie Harrell, of Drexel, N.C., and Tabatha Lackey Conley Springs, N.C.; 30 grandchildren; 45 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert "Bob" Bowers and Clint Bowers, both of Elizabethton; one sister, Gay Pierce, Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews also survive. A candle light funeral service will be conducted at 8 p.m. Thursday, June 24, 2004 in the Riverside Chapel of Tetrick Funeral Home, Elizabethton, with Rev. Phillip Coffey and Rev. Larry Rowe officiating. The family will receive friends in the funeral home chapel from 6 to 8 p.m. prior to the funeral service or friends may call at the residence of a son, 368 Rocky Branch Rd., Hampton, any time. The graveside service and burial will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Friday, June 25, 2004 at Caldwell Springs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from grandsons. Those who plan to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:15 a.m. on Friday to go in procession to the cemetery.
