CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Leafie Annalee Payne, 18 Jul 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Leafie Annalee Payne, 85, Rittertown Road, Hampton, died Monday, July 18, 2005, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home. Mrs. Payne was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Charlie and Lockie Evelyn Hilman Tolley. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Doax Street, her second husband, Danford Payne, and three brothers, Julius, Mack and Paul Tolley. Mrs. Payne was a retired employee of North American Rayon Corporation after 40 years of service. She was a faithful member of Little Doe Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors inclue five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Geneva and Howard Roberts and Shirlene Davis, all of Hampton, Darlie Hyder, Johnson City, Mahala Hampton, Cedar Bluff, Ala., and Alpha and Bill Tipton, Roan Mountain; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Jack and Sammie Tolley, Herman and Shonett Tolley and Wade and Linda Tolley, all of Hampton; several nieces and nephews including a special niece, Sandra Forbes; and her special friends, Sally Cates, Alma Cates, John and Faye Hensley, George and Brenda Roberson, Brenda McCoury and Jimmy Stevens. Funeral services for Mrs. Payne will be conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 19, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Rev. Sam Ferguson, Rev. Shane Waters and Rev. Troy Davis officiating. Music will be provided by the Generation Gap. Graveside services and interment will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 20, at Happy Valley Memorial Park. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10 a.m. Wednesday, will be George Roberson, Harold Street, Allen Lyons, Billy Jack Tolbert, Butch Tolbert, Eddie Orr, Glen Cates and Gary Simerly. Honorary pallbearers will be her church family, friends and neighbors. The family would like to express a special "Thank You" to Victor and Judy Deloach and the Staff of Ivy Hall Nursing Home and the 3rd Floor Nursing Staff of Sycamore Shoals Hospital. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
