CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Wilma J. Peeks, 11 Oct 2003 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Wilma J. Peeks Wilma J. Peeks, 75, of Scotland Drive, Kingsport, Tennessee went home to be with the Lord, Saturday Oct. 11, 2003 at Wellmont Hospice House in Bristol, Tenn. following an extended illness. She was born and raised in Elizabethton and had resided in Rogersville for the past 30 years. She served on the Board of Directors of Rural Health Consortium for 12 years, as president for three years, and as a member for nine years. She was also treasurer of the Rogersville Lions Club along with the recipient of the Melvin Jones Award for Outstanding Community Service. Mrs. Peeks served on the board for Upper East Tennessee Human Development Agency for a number of years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Rogersville and formerly a member of Eastside Christian Church, Elizabethton. Survivors include her loving husband of 57 years, Claude Peeks; daughters, Jackie Jobe of Kingsport, Jan Rose and husband, Jerry, of Knoxville; grandchildren, Scott Forbes and wife, Jennifer Harris-Forbes of Carbondale, Ill.; Bryan Forbes and wife, Susan, of Knoxville; Amanda Eachus and husband, Matthew, of Stuarts Draft, Va.; Clarissa Jean Rose of Colombia, S.C.; great-grandchildren, Raegan and Matthew Forbes of Knoxville, and sisters Betty Wandell and Sue Stout of Elizabethton. Several nieces and nephews and many special friends also survive. Calling hours are from 6 to 8 p.m. Monday, October 13, 2003 at Christian-Sells Funeral Home, Rogersville, Tenn. Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, October 14, 2003 at Highland Cemetery in Elizabethton. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
