CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Maude L. Peeks, 16 Nov 2004 ----¤¤¤---- Maude L. Peeks, 92, formerly of Maude Peeks Road, Elizabethton, died Tuesday, November 16, 2004, at Ivy Hall Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Peeks was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Lindsey and Amanda Nidiffer Rash. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Roy L. Peeks, in 1977, a daughter, Barbara Evelyn Peeks, a son, Harold Peeks, a grandson, Roy H. Peeks, and several brothers. Mrs. Peeks was a charter member of Hunter First Baptist Church. She was a farmer and housewife. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Geraldine Peeks, Gray, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Several nieces and nephews also survive. The funeral service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Thursday, November 18, in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home with Rev. Horace Bowers and Dr. Dennis Deese officiating. The graveside service and interment will be at 11 a.m. Friday, November 19, at Emmert Cemetery. Everyone is requested to meet at the funeral home at 10:15 a.m. Friday to go in procession to the cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Thursday in the Chapel of Peace of Tetrick Funeral Home or at other times at the home of a granddaughter, Tina Vaughn, 180 Campbell Rash Road, Elizabethton. Active pallbearers will be Lanny Peeks, Dustin Peeks, Harold Keller, Larry Vaughn, Lynn Rash and Lynn Rash Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Kaleb Peeks, Davis Osborne and Mark Osborne. A special thank you is extended to the Ivy Hall Nursing Home Staff for all their love and care shown to the Peeks family.
