CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Wade Hal Perry, 16 Jun 2002 ----¤¤¤---- Wade H. Perry Wade Hal Perry, 74, 131 Zeb Grindstaff Road, Elizabethton, died suddenly Sunday, June 16, 2002, at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center Hospital. Mr. Perry was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Hal and Estella Taylor Perry. He was also preceded in death by two brothers, Edwin Perry and Danny Perry. Mr. Perry was a member of Hunter First Baptist Church and an employee of Richard Diehl Company. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Matoka Grindstaff Perry, of the home; a son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lenice Perry, Elizabethton; a daughter and son-in-law, Melissa "Missie" and Allen Barnett, Elizabethton; five grandchildren, Jeremy Perry and his wife Holly, Piney Flats, Matthew Perry, David Perry, Shane Heaton and Sarah Heaton, all of Elizabethton; two great-grandchildren, Gabriel and Emily Perry; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Harry and Katheryn Perry, Elizabethton, and Jerry and Pam Perry, Elkhart, Ind.; six sisters and two brothers-in-law, Emma Jean Cox, Sue Pirtle, Maxine Rust and Carolyn and Bobby Dozier, all of Elkhart, Ind., Fredia and Willard "Pete" Kyte, Winder, Ga., and Teresa and Dave Riedl, Watertown, Wis.; and two sisters-in-law, Shelby Smith, Mentor, Ohio, and Joyce Perry, Gosher, Ind. Eric Eggers and the Rev. Burl Garland officiating. Interment will follow the service at Combs Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Honorary pallbearers will be fellow employees of Richard Diehl Company, the Junior Adult Sunday School Class of Hunter First Baptist Church, friends and neighbors.
