Peters Edith Evelyn Peters, 152 Peters Hollow Road, Elizabethton, died Monday, November 19, 2001, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital. Miss Peters was a native of Carter County and a daughter of the late Alfred N. and Mae Shankle Peters. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Franklin Lee Peters. Miss Peters was the Oldest Charter Member of Carter Christian Church. Survivors include two sisters, Euvada Peters and Marjorie Peters, both of the home; a brother and sister-in-law, Durward and Lucy Peters, Elizabethton; a special niece, Jill Peters Croley, Concord, N.C.; two special nephews, Frank Peters and Michael Peters, both of Elizabethton; seven special great-nieces and great-nephews; and a special friend, Erma Lou Broyles. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. PETERS -- Funeral services for Edith Evelyn Peters, 152 Peters Hollow Road, Elizabethton, who died Monday, November 19, 2001, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Wednesday, November 21, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Ernie Depew and Mr. Brent Nidiffer, ministers, officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 22, in the Blevins Cemetery. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, will be Jason Peters, Weston Peters, Micky Taylor, Jerry Roberts, Don Hardin, Bill Gentry, Kenneth Shankle and Jeff Buckles. Honorary pallbearers will be Her Church Family. A Special "Thank You" to her friend and physician, Dr. Angela May, for all her love and care. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at her residence.
