CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Wiley Christian Peters, 9 Nov 1941

Obituary appeared in the November 10, 1941 Elizabethton Star
 
Wiley Christian Peters, age 65, well known resident of Carter county, died in 
a local hospital yesterday afternoon at 5:00 o'clock after a short illness.  
Funeral services will be conducted from the Union Hill Baptist church this 
afternoon at 3:00 o'clock.  Rev. Clarence Howington will be in charge.  Burial 
will be in the family cemetery.  Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Mae Peters; one 
daughter, Miss Cora Peters; two sons, Anderson and Clate Peters; one sister, 
Mrs. Martha Garland; three brothers, John, Alfred and Dan Peters, all of 
Carter county.
 
Wiley Peters was the son of Reuben B. Peters (1845-1905) and Nancy Oliver 
(1845-1908).  Wiley's first wife was Docia Richardson (1877-1933).  His second 
wife was Mae Eads White.
