CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Rosa Campbell Peters, 5 Jul 1969 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Sunday, July 6, 1969 Elizabethton Star Mrs. Rosa Campbell Peters, 87 Rt. 2, Hampton, died unexpectedly at her home Saturday afternoon. She was a native of Carter County and the daughter of the late George and Nancy Jane Goodwin Campbell. Mrs. Peters was preceded in death by her husband, B.H. Peters, January, 1962, and a sister, Mrs. Orlie Hinkle, June 28, 1969. She was a member of the Union Baptist Church. Survivors are one daughter, Mrs. Lawrence Whitehead, Hampton; one son, Charles, Hampton, one brother, P.R. Campbell, Rt. 2, Elizabethton; three granddaughters and one grandson and six great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews also survive. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services for Mrs. Rosa Campbell Peters will be held Monday at 2 pm from the Union Baptist Church with Rev. Floyd Ishee, Rev. Haskel Ingram Jr. and Rev. Warren Montgomery officiation. Mrs. W.O. Johnson, organist, and the Church Choir will be in charge of the music. Active pallbearers: Shelton Lewis, Luke Shaw, Ben Tester, Charles Hinkle, Mark Campbell, Ralph Campbell, Fonce Williams and Ed Lewis. Flower bearers will be the ladies of the Adult Class of the Church, friends and neighbors. The body will remain in the Funeral Home Chapel and the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Sunday. Friends may call at the Chapel and at the home, Rt. 2, Hampton, at any time. Burial in Union Baptist Church Cemetery.
