CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Robert "Bob" Peters, 23 Feb 1977 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Thursday, February 24, 1977 Elizabethton Star Robert "Bob" Peters, 72, Rt. 1, Hampton, died at 8:45 pm Wednesday in the Carter County Memorial Hospital following an illness of four months. A native of Carter County, he was the son of the late John and Jane Shaw Peters, and was a Veteral of World War II. Survivors include his step-mother, Mrs. Julia Potter, Rt. 1, Hampton, and a number of cousins. Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Funeral services for Robert "Bob" Peters, Rt. 1, Hampton, who died Wednesday evening, will be conducted at 2 pm Saturday from the chapel of Hathaway-Percy Funeral Home, with the Rev. haskell Ingram officiating. Music will be under the direction of Mrs. Georgia Cox, organist. Burial will be in the Morton Cemetery. Active pallbearers are Haskell Pierce, Ray Johnson, Gene Potter, Henry Potter, Herman Tolley, Charlie Morton, Clyde Cates and J.D. Smith. Flower bearers will be friends and neighbors. The body will remain in the funeral home chapel where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 pm Friday, and other times at the home of Mrs. Julia Potter, Rt. 1, Hampton.
