CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Maggie Lipps Peters, 12 Nov 1953 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Friday, November 13, 1953 Elizabethton Star Mrs. Maggie Lipps Peters, 62, of Rt. 2, Elizabethton, died suddenly at her home at noon Thursday. She had been in poor health for some time. She was a member of the New Liberty Freewill Baptist Church. Survivors inclued her husband, Mr. Robert H. Peters of the home. four sons, Coy Lee Peters of Rt. 5, Elizabethton; Arthur Peters, Rt. 2, Elizabethton; Robert Peters, Jr., of Nashville, and Walter Wesley Peters, with the U.S. Navy, at San Diago, California; four daughters, Miss Bonnie Peters of the home; Mrs. Lillie Crumley and Mrs. Martha Shankle, both of Rt. 2, Elizabethton; and Mrs. Bertha Nell Sullins, of Nashville; sixteen grandchildren; two brothers, Jim Lipps, of Elizabethton and Claude Arnold of Rt. 5, Elizabethton; one sister; Mrs. J.M. Moreland, of Rt. 5, and one half-sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Taylor, of Tiffin, Ohio.
