CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Margaret Taylor Phillips, 10 Jul 2005 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Margaret Taylor Phillips, fondly known as Aunt Margie, died Sunday, July 10, 2005, in Lanham, Md. A native of Carter County, she lived on Stoney Creek in the Ritchie Town Community for 18 years. She graduated from Unaka High School in 1945 and worked for the Naval Defense Department in Washington, D.C., where she retired in the mid 1980s. She married Phil Phillips and they had two children, Mary Ann and LaRue. Aunt Margie was the youngest daughter of Murrey and Mary Ann Hall Taylor. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a baby brother, Henry, two brothers, Carl and Sel Taylor, two sisters, Lula Taylor Elliott Monaco and Ethel Taylor Peters, and a nephew, Lanny Peters. Survivors include several nieces and nephews. Before moving from this area she attended Stoney Creek Baptist Church. She attended River Dale Baptist Church in Lanham, Md. Aunt Margie had been ill for 10 months and will be sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and cousins. We will miss her visits each summer to this area. The funeral service will be conducted at 9 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, at Beall Funeral Home with the pastor of Riverdale Baptist Church officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, prior to the service. Entombment will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 13, at the Gates of Heaven Cemetery, Silver Springs, Md.
