Pierce, 76, Pine Ridge Care Center, formerly of Bulldog Hollow, Elizabethton, died Monday, November 12, 2001, at Sycamore Shoals Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Pierce was a native of Carter County and the son of the late James G. and Anna Mae Oliver Pierce. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Elige Pierce, and a sister, Evelyn Richardson. Mr. Pierce was a former construction worker. Survivors include three sisters, Ellen Bradley and Novella Nidiffer, both of Elizabethton, and Corrine Carden, Lenoir, N.C., and a brother, Jasper Pierce, Meadowview, Va. Pierce, 76, Pine Ridge Care Center, formerly of Bulldog Hollow, Elizabethton, who died Monday, November 12, 2001, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, November 14, at Tetrick Funeral Home, Chapel of Peace, with the Rev. Larry Garland and the Rev. Clate Briggs officiating. Graveside services and interment will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday, November 15, at Buckles Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Larry Nidiffer, Eddie Nidiffer, Tim Honeycutt, Mike Bradley, Phil Bradley and Kevin Bradley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Nursing Staff at Pine Ridge Care Center and Billy Smith. Everyone will meet at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Thursday for the graveside service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday. Friends may also call at the residence of a sister, Novella Nidiffer, 253 Lick Skillet Road, Elizabethton, at any time.
