CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Margaret Ellen Pierce, 17 Mar 2003 ----¤¤¤---- Margaret E. Pierce Margaret Ellen Pierce, 78, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, formerly of 114 Vanover Drive, Johnson City, died Monday, March 17, 2003 in the Sycamore Shoals Hospital. A native of Carter County, she was a daughter of the late Henry Joseph and Mamie Nave Pierce. She had lived in Johnson City for a number of years. She was a 1942 graduate of Science Hill High School. Miss Pierce was retired from North Ridge Properties. She had formerly worked at ITT, Raytheon, and North American Rayon Corporation. She was a member of Southwestern Baptist Church, Johnson City. She was preceded in death by a sister, Novella Ferguson. Survivors include three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Grace Rossiter, and Henrietta and Paul May, all of Elizabethton, and Desserree and Cliff Osborne, Johnson City; three nieces, Alicia Blevins and her husband, Bill Blevins; Cassidy Blevins and Emily May; two nephews, Joe May and his wife, Kathy May, and Billy Blevins. Several cousins also survive. Memorial Funeral Chapel, Elizabethton, is in charge of arrangements. PIERCE -- Funeral services for Margaret Ellen Pierce, 78, Ivy Hall Nursing Home, Elizabethton, formerly of 114 Vanouver Drive, Johnson City, who died Monday, March 17, 2003, will be conducted at 8 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2003 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. John A. Jones officiating. Entombment services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 20, 2003 in the Mausoleum of Peace, Happy Valley Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of her sisters, Desserree Osborne, 317 Cedar Grove Rd., Johnson City, or the residence of Henrietta May, 213 West H. St., Elizabethton.
