CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Millie Pierce, 19 Apr 1936 --------------¤¤¤¤¤¤-------------- Obituary appeared in the Monday April 20, 1936 Elizabethton Star Mrs. Millie Pierce, 80, died at her home in Carter, Sunday night at 9:30 after a prolonged illness. Her husband, the late William Pierce, died just five days ago. She was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors are two daughters, Mrs. Bessie Collins of Watauga Valley, Miss Ellen Pierce of Carter; five sons, Sex Pierce of Raston, Va., Dan, Alf, Rube, and Sam Pierce all of Carter; two sisters, Mrs Will Taylor of Elizabethton, Mrs. Nick Garland of Carter; and six brothers, T.N., Wylie, Alf, John, Ike, and Dan Peters all of Carter. Funeral services were conducted from the Free Will Baptist church at Carter this afternoon at 2:30 with the Rev. Clarence Howington and Rev. Charlie Elkins officiation. Interment was in the Blevins cemetery. Active pallbearers were George Collins, Howard Lewis, Sheriff J. M. Moreland, Wade Renfro, Sol Wilson and Jim Pardue. Flower bearers were Anna Collins, Lonie Pierce, Ellie Peters, Edith Grindstaff, Anna Renfro, Bonita Cole, Grace Taylor, Eliza Rains, Leona Peters and Althe Renfro. (Millie was the daughter of Reuben B. Peters 1845-1905 and Nancy Oliver 1845- 1908. Her husband was William M.
