CARTER COUNTY, TN - OBITUARIES - Hugh G. "Bruce" Pierce, 24 Feb 1989 ----¤¤¤---- Obituary appeared in the Sunday, February 26, 1989 Elizabethton Star Hugh G. "Bruce" Pierce, 85, Route 2, Hampton, died Friday, February 24, 1989, in the Big Springs Manor Nursing Home, Huntsville, Alabama. A native of Carter County, he had been in Huntsville for the past four months. Mr. Pierce was a retired employee of the North American Rayon Corporation, and a member of the Hampton Christian Church. He was an Army Veteran of World War II. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Nell Peters Pierce, Johnson County Health Care Center, Mountain City; one daughter, Mrs. Albert "Bud" (Etta) Honeycutt, Arab, Alabama; one grandson, Bruce Honeycutt, Johnson City. Memorial Funeral Chapen is in charge. Funeral services for Hugh "Bruce" Pierce, 85, Rt. 2, Hampton who died Friday will be conducted at 8:30 p.m. Sunday in Memorial Funeral Chapel with John B. Hall, Minister officiating. Interment will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the Butler Memorial Cemetery. Lewis Garrison, soloist will be in charge of the music. Active pallbearers who are requested to assemble at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Monday will be Tony Pierce, Raymond Montgomery, Herman Tolley, Gene White, Clyde Cates, Harold Rainbolt, Bill Peters and Adrian Campbell. The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Sunday in the funeral home. Mr. and Mrs. Honeycutt will be at the residence of Mrs. Fern Honeycutt, Rt. 3, Butler. Family and friends will assemble at the cemetery at 9:55 a.m. Monday. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
