Mr. Potter was a native of Hampton and had lived in Telford for the past 10 years. He was a son of the late Millard and Pearl Bunton Potter and was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary Hazelwood Potter, a brother, Clay Potter, two infant brothers and one infant sister. Mr. Potter was a retired security guard with the Washington County School System and had formerly been employed as a guard at Oak Ridge. He was a Baptist. He was a charter member of the Elizabethton Elks Club and the Elizabethton Moose Club. Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Marisa Potter, Elizabethton; a granddaughter, Christian Potter, Elizabethton; a special friend, Delores Arney, Telford; two brothers, Russell Potter, Hampton, and Bernard Potter, Johnson City; and two sisters, Danford Bowman and Donnis Hicks, both of Johnson City. Several nieces and nephews also survive. Morris-Baker Funeral Home, 2001 Oakland Avenue, Johnson City, (423) 282-1521, is in charge of arrangements. POTTER -- Funeral services for Ree Potter, 77, 1562 Old State Route 34, Telford, who died Thursday, October 26, 2000, were conducted at 8 p.m. Saturday, October 28, from the Morris-Baker South Chapel with Mr. Glenn Keller officiating. Interment will follow graveside services at 2 p.m. Sunday, October 29, at Monte Vista Burial Park, where the family and friends are asked to meet for services. Active pallbearers will be Buddy Hazelwood, Aaron Potter, Mike Potter, Ralph Pierce, Mike Tipton, Mike Hoover, Tom Tipton and Tommy Tipton. The family received friends at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday. Friends may also call at the home of his son, Dale Potter, 129 Hart Road, Elizabethton.
