Potter Bernard H. Potter, 73, 317 Green Pond Road, Johnson City, died Saturday, January 27, 2001, at the James H. Quillen V.A. Medical Center. Mr. Potter was a native of Carter County and a son of the late William Millard and Pearl Bunton Potter. He was also preceded in death by three brothers and one sister. Mr. Potter was retired from a furniture factory in North Carolina and was a Veteran of the Korean Conflict, having served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Meadow View Baptist Church. Survivors include two sisters, Danford Bowman and Donnis Hicks, both of Johnson City; a brother, the Rev. Russell Potter, Elizabethton; several nieces and nephews; and special friends, Frank and Louise Potter, Johnson City. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements. POTTER -- Funeral services for Bernard H. Potter, 73, 317 Green Pond Road, Johnson City, who died Saturday, January 27, 2001, will be conducted at 7 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, at Memorial Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Richard Jones officiating. The Pilgrims Journey will provide the music. Graveside services and interment will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 30, in the Bunton Cemetery, Butler. Military Graveside Honors will be provided by the V.F.W. Post #2166. Active pallbearers, who are requested to assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday will be Aaron Potter, Mike Potter, Ed Peters, Dale Potter, David Sneyd, Scott Sams and George Bunton. Honorary pallbearers will be Elbert Cable, Bill Bowman, Ronnie Bowman, Mark Potter and Raymond Campbell. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Friends may also call at the residence of a niece, Janet Peters, 312 East H. Street, Elizabethton. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home at 1 p.m. Wednesday to go to the cemetery. Memorial Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
